Boston May 2014 - Day 3

This morning it's just myself and Al heading out so we say our farewells to Chris who is flying home later that day. We get a lift to the station and take the commuter train into downtown. Our first stop is to the science museum which has some fun exhibits and we watch a documentary about pandas on the Imax theatre. There is a very interesting temporary display about the science of food, Heston Blumenthal style, at a restaurant in Spain so we add it to the to do list some day. We have a quick bite to eat enjoying chips and guacamole (I really do love the food here, so glad I don’t live here though or I’d be twice the size).

Next we walk along the Charles river where we had been the previous day on our duck tour and head towards the famous MIT campus. Before heading inside our tour book tells us we have to try some of the student food from the vans parked outside. It's obviously not a popular day as there is only one around but we give it a go. We take a small wander inside some of the buildings and watch the students hanging out most sat with an iMac on their lap.

We walk back into the main part of the city and stop in a bar called Dillon's for a cheeky beer and a cocktail. People around us are celebrating Cinqo de Mayo and drinking corona whilst wearing Mexican hats.

We walk over to the main park with its many statues and share an ice cream before finding a tj maxx and doing a bit of shopping. Just a small purchase this time as I find myself a red sox T-shirt for the game tomorrow.

Afterwards we wander around Chinatown for a while before finding q restaurant. We were lucky to get seated at the bar and the reviews on trip advisor were amazing so we were hoping for some great sushi. We were not disappointed, the food and cocktails were amazing. We were tempted to stay out for one more drink but there was a train coming soon so we headed to the station as we had another full day ahead of us tomorrow.
